Albert had a good game of chess with Donald. The score: Draw (Game 1 in which Albert played King's Gambit). He resigned Game 2 in which Donald played a fiancetto opening. Will meet again next month in Buona Vista Gdn!

A Ong and LS Woo played their monthly match which ended in a 1-1 draw after almost 3 hours of play.
This was the middle game of a Sicilian Defence. Ong, playing Black, won the game.
This was the 2nd game. Woo (Black) played the French Defence and won.

It was a deliberate slow game between A Ong (White)& S Yeo (Black).
The game was stable at this point in the middle game.
But in the end game, with White on the attack, a miscalculated combination allowed Black to be a Rook up, thus winning the game.

Albert Ong (White) played P-K4 against Steve Yeo (Black) who defended with a double fiancetto.
Black was 1 pawn up in the middle game.
However, the double fiancetto led to a positional weakness in the end game in which White aggresively attacked Black's position with a threat of mate.
This was the final position (White to move) in which White forced Black to resign.

It was a great session of chess that we had, beginning from 10am. 
Donald Koh played with Woo Lam Sang, and Albert Ong played with William Lim.
Coffee break was 11.30am.

19: Simultaneous Chess @ PMC GYM - Wed 2 Apr 2014
Albert Ong played a 2-board simultaneous game against David Yeo and William Lim. As both opponents played 1.P-K4, Albert replied with the Sicilian Defence.
In the middle game between Albert (Black) and David (White), an over-sight caused White to lose his Queen in a Knight fork check, in the sequence: 1:RxR,RxR 2:QxQP, N-K7ch.
Meanwhile, Albert and William played a cautious game with William emerging one pawn up, but they were unable to complete the game due to closing bell.
