It was a great session of chess that we had, beginning from 10am.

Donald Koh played with Woo Lam Sang, and Albert Ong played with William Lim.

Coffee break was 11.30am.

2 QP games were played between Woo Lam Sang and Albert Ong. The first game ended in a draw. Woo won the second game.

21: Chess @ PMC GYM - Wed 16 Apr 2014

Albert Ong & Steven Yeo played a closed game of chess that afternoon. The result: Steven won.

Thus Steven avenged his loss to Albert on 5 Mar. (See posting #11 here.)

Four chess-playing friends turned up at GYM for chess this afternoon, and they had a great time playing the game till closing time.

19: Simultaneous Chess @ PMC GYM - Wed 2 Apr 2014

Albert Ong played a 2-board simultaneous game against David Yeo and William Lim. As both opponents played 1.P-K4, Albert replied with the Sicilian Defence.

In the middle game between Albert (Black) and David (White), an over-sight caused White to lose his Queen in a Knight fork check, in the sequence: 1:RxR,RxR 2:QxQP, N-K7ch.

Meanwhile, Albert and William played a cautious game with William emerging one pawn up, but they were unable to complete the game due to closing bell.
